在二战后尚未归还日本的冲绳岛上，有一群人自可怕的「铁暴风」中幸存下来。他们像动物般活在残破的世界，眼前是垂死的岛民和尸体。于是他们从美军的仓库和基地抢夺物资，延续这座岛上未完的战争，他们被叫做「战果捞客」。直到那一夜，阿恩（永山瑛太 饰）在嘉手纳基地的逃亡过程中神秘失踪，一场曾将故乡烧毁殆尽的铁暴风再度席卷这座岛屿而来。 「活下去，生还才是最大的战果。」多年之后，岛上女孩接连惨遭杀害，一名菜鸟琉球警察（妻夫木聪 饰）奉令侦办命案。追捕疑犯的过程中，在凶手车子里发现的人骨和一名神秘出现的男孩，让他儿时身为战果捞客的记忆与一道道未解谜团又重回脑海。
